Glitcho Home on macOS

How it works

A DVR you actually own

01

Run the server

Docker or Python 3.12 on a NAS, a Mac mini, or a spare box. One process records. Your disk holds the library.

02

Pair the native app

QR, pairing code, or Bonjour on the LAN. iPhone, iPad and Mac Catalyst talk to your engine over HTTPS.

03

Set it and forget it

Auto-record the channels you follow. Chat is archived in sync. Everything encrypted at rest with your master key.

What Glitcho does

01

Auto-record everything

Set a rule once and every stream from the channels you follow is captured to your server the moment it goes live - quality, retention and per-channel rules included. Never miss a 3 a.m. stream again.

02

Chat replay, in sync

Chat is archived alongside the video and replayed message-by-message at the original timestamps. Scrub the recording and the room scrubs with you.

03

A real offline library

Recordings live on your own disk, encrypted at rest, grouped by streamer, searchable, and downloadable to any device on your network. Grid or list, sorted your way.

04

Your server, your data

One self-hosted FastAPI server does the capturing; the native app is just a window onto it. No cloud, no third-party storage, nothing leaves your network.

Open source

When it ships

It will be open source when officially released, under the MIT License. The Swift client, the FastAPI server, and the recorder will live in one repository you can read, audit, and fork. Third-party: not made by or affiliated with Twitch.
