Privacy Policy

Who we are

Glitcho is an independent native client (iPhone, iPad, and Mac) plus an optional self-hosted server. The developer does not operate a Glitcho cloud that receives your library, credentials, or viewing history. You - or the person who runs your server - control the hardware where recordings and account tokens live.

Data the app does not collect

Glitcho does not include advertising, analytics, or tracking SDKs. We do not use the Advertising Identifier (IDFA). We do not sell personal data. We do not run a crash reporter that phones home. We do not use your data for third-party advertising or data-broker purposes. Nothing in the App Store build is used for tracking as defined by Apple's App Tracking Transparency policy.

Data that stays on your devices and server

The following may be stored locally on your iPhone, iPad, Mac, or on the server you host. It is not transmitted to Glitcho:

• Account tokens. When you sign in to Twitch, access tokens and related session data are stored on your self-hosted server (encrypted at rest with your master key) so the app can browse, play, and record on your behalf.
• User content. Stream recordings, chat archives, thumbnails cached for playback, and library metadata live on disk you control.
• Identifiers on-device. Pairing state, server URL, and a privacy lock (Face ID / Touch ID / device passcode) stay in the app's sandbox or the system keychain. Biometric data never leaves the device; Apple's LocalAuthentication APIs only return success or failure.
• Diagnostics on-device. Optional local logs used to debug a pairing or recording issue remain on the device or server unless you choose to export them.

This website's waitlist

If you join the waitlist on this site, we store the email address you enter so we can tell you when Glitcho is released. It is not used for advertising, analytics, or sold. You can ask to be removed by contacting us through GitHub.

Third-party services you choose to use

Playback and sign-in talk to the platforms you connect. Those companies process data under their own policies. Glitcho is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by them.

Live video may stream from the platform CDN to your device. Recorded copies are written only to your server. Do not use Glitcho to redistribute other people's streams; recordings are for personal archival, like a DVR.

Permissions the app may request

iOS and macOS will show a system prompt the first time a permission is needed. Glitcho requests only what the feature requires:

• Camera (optional). Scanning a pairing QR code so the app can find your server. Not used for photos, video, or anything else.
• Local network (optional). Discovering a Glitcho server on your LAN via Bonjour.
• Face ID / Touch ID (optional). Unlocking the in-app privacy lock. Processed on-device.
• Local network / storage. Saving downloads you request onto the device for offline viewing.

Glitcho does not request access to Contacts, Photos, Microphone, Health, or precise Location.

App Store privacy nutrition labels

In App Store Connect, Glitcho declares that data is not collected by the developer for tracking, advertising, or analytics. Data that exists in the product (account credentials, recordings, search history inside the client) is stored on the user's device or user-hosted server and is not used to track the user across apps or websites owned by other companies.

Access, deletion, and accounts

There is no Glitcho cloud account. To delete data: unlink Twitch in Settings, delete recordings from the library, and/or erase the app and the server data directory you created. Uninstalling the iOS or Mac app removes on-device caches and pairing state. If someone else hosts the server for you, ask them to delete your account and recordings on that machine.

Children

Glitcho is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country) and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The App Store age rating and Twitch terms still apply to whatever you choose to watch.

International transfer

Because we do not operate a Glitcho backend, we do not transfer your library to our servers in any country. Twitch CDNs may serve video from locations they choose under their policies.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects how the App Store build handles data, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date, and we will refresh the App Store Connect privacy nutrition labels before shipping that build.
